Studying is not the only way one can learn at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy. Developing Life skills and getting involved in activities which help built confidence and character are just as important. Many of our students stepped out of the college environs and made their mark in a plethora of activities this term.

LITERARY ACTIVITIES

A number of literary activities like Elocution, Essay Writing, Poetry Recitation, Declamation and Quiz contests are organized to provide exposure and creative outlet for the students.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Beyond the Classroom Our college believes that it is very important to keep upgrading one’s knowledge. Only classroom teaching is not enough for the holistic development of the students. They must be exposed to many other fields, new theories and new concepts. Keeping this in mind the college organizes a host of workshops, seminars and training programmes throughout the year for the enrichment of the students as well as the faculty. Prominent amongst these are: Seminars/Workshops/Traning Programs for the faculty:

1. A I -day AICTE sponsored workshop to sensitize the management and teachers of technical institutions to tackle the menace of "Sexual Crime against Women" attended by Mrs. jaswinder Kaur and Mrs. Ritu Nandwani at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Sector-26, Chandigarh on 14th june, 2013.

2. A 5-day short term training programme on "Latest Trends in Pharmacy Education" attended by Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur and Mrs. Neeta Kumarat NITTTR, Sector-26, Chandigarh from 2nd to 6th Sept., 2013

3. A 2-day International conference on "Microfluidics and Laboratory on a Chip" attended by Mrs. Shalini Bajaj at Hotel Sheraton, Bangalore from 27th to 28th Sept., 20 13.

4. A I-day ELT workshop on "Teaching and Speaking Skills" attended by Mrs. Paramjit Kaur at the British Council, Chandigarh on 6th Feb.,20 14.

5. A I-day regional workshop on "Science Communcation: Youth Leadership for Eco and WaSH Futures" attended by Mr. Anupam Dwivedi and Mrs. Anu Vijan at Punjab State Council for Science and Technology,Sector-26, Chandigarh on 5th March, 20 14.

6. A I-day workshop on "Making Chandigarh aWomen and Girls Friendly City" attended by Mr.Anupam Dwivedi at Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 6th March,20 14.

7. A lecture on "Advances in Genetics" delivered by Ms. Balpreet Kaur from GMCH, Sector-32, Chandigarh on 20th March, 20 14.

8. A I-day "Scientific Seminar cum Workshop" on Bio-Medical Lab. Science Day at PGIMER, Sector- 12, Chandigarh organized by All India Medical Lab. Technologists Association attended by DMLT faculty members on 15th April, 2014.
9. A I-day workshop on "Developing Curriculum of DMLT for the state of Punjab" attended by Mr. Anupam Dwivedi at NITTTR, Sector-26, Chandigarh on I 6th April, 2014.

10. A lecture on "Conservation of Water" delivered by Mrs. Ravneet Kaur at Govt. Middle School, Kishangarh on 22nd May, 2013.

11. A lecture on "Flavoring Agents in Food based Industries" delivered by Mrs. Ravneet Kaur at an Entrepreneurship Development Program held for Food Processing Industry at Panchkula on 7th April, 2014

OTHER ACTIVITIES

To promote talent, creativity and innovative ideas of the students, a number of other activities like Poster making, Collage making, Singing & Dancing, Rangoli making, Skit, Flower arrangement, Turban tying, Kite Making and Face Painting, Mehandi Competitions etc. are organized for the students.
